Haynesworth sheds a couple lbs

Albert Haynesworth is reportedly 32 pounds lighter than his original weigh-in back in April, said his trainer Tripp Smith in an interview with Fredericksburg.com's Rich campbell. In an article referring to Campbell's column Mike Florio of profootballtalk.com says in his article that he thinks it's a last-ditch effort to change the minds of Shanahan and the management to go back to the 4-3 and keep him at defensive tackle.

Don't buy into the hype, we should want Haynesworth to prove he can keep the weight off, and when he's back here in DC to not be going out to restaurants all the time eating bad food and slacking off in team workouts. If indeed Haynesworth is reborn into a svelte 233 pound frame, let him prove his worth on the field, in practice, and in the community. Right now he's the most hated player on the team, the vitriol aimed at Albert Haynesworth will be evident in the fan reaction and news coverage.

All anyone could talk about for a month was how Haynesworth doesn't deserve the money and how he was lazy and lackadaisical last season, needs a walker, needs conditioning, needs less twinkies...but the public outcry won't last. Soon as he's a beast again, he'll be a guy that Skins fans "used" to hate, back when he was terrible. But he has a lot to prove, and he's not going to get anywhere by trying to change a system that isn't his to change.
